Now, let's get to the interview!
How long have you been in business?
Why did you get started in your industry?
Becoming a mom in 2008 is why I picked up a DSLR. I wanted to take better photos of my son!
What has been the most rewarding project you have worked on in your career?
That's tough, there are so many amazing projects I've done. The one that stands out the most... A wedding I shot a few years ago, A family member of the bride had reached out and had told me the bride was diagnosed with terminal cancer and that they were planning her dream wedding, I offered my services at no cost, and the family was just incredible! It was a beautiful day full of love and amazing vendors who came together to make this fairy-tale wedding come true. The bride passed away not long after the wedding. I still keep in contact with the family. That wedding made a huge impact on my life & Business!
What does a day in the life look like for you in your business?
Waking up early, getting my kids up & ready for school. Then emails, website design, constantly working on new projects! Weekends are usually spent shooting weddings!
What has been the best investment you have made in your business?
My website! It was a big investment, but I know people are impressed when they view it! I've gotten countless amounts of compliments on it since I released it!
What advice would you give to a person just starting out in this industry?
Don't do it alone! There are so many amazing encouraging groups on facebook these days that weren't around when I first started! It's surprising how many people are willing to help you out when you're starting out! Also, follow the beat to your own drum, do what you were called to do. Do not worry about what everyone else is doing!
Megan, thank you so much for being a Captivating Creative! We love your work and can't wait to see you continue to capture beautiful images for all of your lovely clients! Friends! Let's go follow Megan and cheer her on!
